Chinese disabled artists to perform in Hanoi

A troupe of Chinese disabled artists will perform in Hanoi on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Vietnam-China diplomatic ties and the four-day visit to Vietnam by Chinese Culture Minister Tai Wu beginning Dec. 1.

This was announced by Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism and the Chinese embassy in Vietnam.

The troupe’s performance at Hanoi Opera House on Dec. 2 will be broadcast live on the Vietnam Television, they said.

Founded in 1987, the China Disabled People\'s Performing Art Troupe is well-known for its dances "Thousand-hand Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva" and "My Dream". The troupe has been honoured as the “Messenger of Beauty and Humanity” by the international community and designated as “Image Ambassadors for 600 million people with disabilities in the world” by the Disabled People’s International Sixth World Assembly and “Artist for Peace” by UNESCO.
