Quang Hai collided with a Singaporean defender in their clash on Tuesday at the on-going SEA Games 30 in the Philippines. Hai was taken off in the 20th minute with injuries.

Medical checks-up showed that Hai suffers from multiple injuries, including to his knee and groin.

It means that Hai will be ruled out the remaining matches of SEA Games 30, including the clash with Thailand today, December 5.

He is hoped to quickly recover to participate the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U23 Championship early next month.

This is a major loss to the national team because Hai is one of the most important players in both the U22 and the senior teams. Coach Park will have a headache coping with the loss of his key player.

Nguyen Quang Hai won best goal at Asian Cup 2019. He was named as the Most Valuable Player at the ASEAN Football Federation Championship that ended last month, where Vietnam was crowned champions.

He was also honoured among Hanoi’s ten outstanding youth in 2018.
