Danang People's Committee has just decided not to hold the Danang International Fireworks Festival in 2020 due to the impact of novel coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19).

Danang International Fireworks Festival has been a highlight of Danang's tourism scene in 2019

On February 20, Ha Vy, deputy director of Danang Department of Culture and Sports, sent a letter to local press agencies informing that the city will not be organising Danang international fireworks festival as usual.

According to Ha Vy, in recent years, the event (DIFF) was successfully organised, making an important contribution to improving cultural activities, developing tourism, and building the image of Danang. However, the main sources of supplies for the festival are areas hit by the COVID-19. Furthermore, for epidemic prevention and control, some activities should be restricted, including festivals that gather crowds.

In this context, Danang People's Committee has issued a written decision to put a hold on Danang International Fireworks Festival 2020.

Danang International Fireworks Festival is an annual event that draws in foreign and domestic tourists and participants. The festival holds a special spot among economic and tourism activities in Danang during the peak season.
