Midfielder Quang Hai’s late super volley helped his Hanoi FC make a spectacular comeback, defeating Viettel 2-1 and defending their National Cup title in the final on September 20.

Quang Hai celebrates his late goal, securing a 2-1 win over Viettel in the National Cup 2020 final.

Ngoc Son opened the scoring for Viettel 30 minutes after halftime, but Truong Van Thai Quy levelled the score for FC Hanoi on 82 minutes of the game.

Just four minutes later, midfielder Quang Hai struck a superb volley, clinching an impressive victory for Hanoi FC.

Hanoi FC coach Chu Dinh Nghiem singled out his player Quang Hai for an excellent performance he had made during the match, saying “Hai had overcome great psychological pressure to play in the final match and his superb goal showed he had done a very good job.”

Hai had not scored a single goal for nine months after SEA Games 2019, especially his leaked love affairs on his Facebook account. However, nobody knows what coach Dinh Nghiem had told his player ahead of the match so that Hai was in good form to help his club defend the National Cup title this year.
