Tickets for the 2022 World Cup qualifying match between Vietnam and Japan due to be held in Hanoi have not been as popular as expected as the Covid-19 pandemic has loomed again over the city.

One day ahead of the match, the ticket stalls near My Dinh Stadium saw few customers on November 10.

The ticket black market for this match is also quiet with some sellers saying they were facing losses after investing into tickets for this match.

"The tighter rules which have just been added for Covid-19 prevention have discouraged fans," a seller on the black market said. "We now only hope to sell all the tickets to get back what we paid for them."

According to Hanoi Police, fans who want to enter My Dinh Stadium to watch the Vietnam-Japan game must bring their identity cards or passports and proof of full vaccination 14 days prior to the game. They must also present a negative Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours.

In addition, fans need to arrive at My Dinh Stadium about two hours before kick-off to complete procedures related to pandemic prevention and control. They are also required to install the VNEID app or get their own accounts at https://suckhoe.dancuquocgia.gov.vn) to make inland travel declarations, including test information.

The match between Vietnam and Japan will take place at 7 pm on November 11 at My Dinh Stadium. Due to the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic, the stadium has a maximum 12,000 capacity for this match.
