The 13-member boy band Super Junior (Suju) of South Korea set their feet in Ho Chi Minh City today to prepare for their Super Show 3 to be held at Go Dau stadium in Binh Duong province on May 8.

They arrived at Tan Son Nhat airport in two groups and witnessed warm welcome by large crowds of teen fans dressed in sapphire blue shirts -- the symbolic color of the group. Fans waited at the venue for a day long to greet them.

First members of the boy band landed at the venue at 13:30 (local time) on their flight from South Korea and the other group from China and landing at 16:00.

A girl who held posters and pictures of members of the band waiting on the first floor of the airport said, “I have been waiting here from 7:00 this morning and I know some others flying here from Hanoi waited for the boys from last night.”

“I am here in hope of seeing them in the flesh.”

However, the expectations of the fans were not well responded as the boys landed and left the airport on two 16-seat vehicles that were covered tightly and well guarded by security forces.

It is planned that the boys will have a trial show today night at Go Dau to prepare for their official appearance tomorrow.

Ticket prices range from VND1.2 million (USD 60) to VND3.5 million (USD175).

Formed in 2005 by SM Entertainment Co. Ltd., the 13-member Super Junior is the world’s largest boy band and has won numerous awards in and outside South Korea.

When the band first performed in Vietnam in March last year as part of an MTV campaign to help fight human trafficking, they drew 50,000 avid fans, mostly teenage girls.
