Students in Hanoi and those from other countries living in the city held an impressive Halloween night on October 29.

Dressing like the dead

The “The Impressive Evening” was held by English clubs, including the RES Club and the English Children Club.

Sarah Acker from Canada’s Waterloo University said, “This is the first time I’ve enjoyed Halloween in Vietnam. It’s wonderful.” The student came to Hanoi in August and now volunteers for a non-government organisation in Vietnam.

The event offered the students the chance to practice their English. Le Thi Ha from the Hanoi University of Medicine, said, “It’s a really great chance to communicate in English and make new friends.”

During the night, participants enjoyed the spooky Halloween atmosphere with student dances, songs and plays. Cinderella was performed by the English Children Club and took first prize at the festival.

On October 30, students of FPT Arena University held a colourful Halloween night named “Party of the Apostle”. The event featured magic tricks, including an act which appeared to show a nail being pushed through the cheek of a student.

Students were delighted to don their best Halloween costumes.
