Ho Chi Minh City plans firework display on National Day

Ho Chi Minh City will hold a 15-minute firework show on the night of September 2 to mark the 69th anniversary of Vietnamese National Day.

The pyrotechnic display will take place at Dam Sen Park in District 11 and one end of the Thu Thiem Tunnel.

In addition to the firework display, Dam Sen Park will also host a wide range of other cultural and artistic activities such as music, dance and circus performances, to celebrate the August revolution and proclamation of an independent Vietnam.

* In Hai Duong province, a workshop entitled “Hai Duong Youth and President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament” was held where participants had an opportunity to watch footage on the final days of the beloved leader.

During the workshop, young people gained a deeper understanding of the significance and values of the testament, as well as President Ho Chi Minh’s sentiment towards youth.

* In Lang Son province, the provincial art troupe and amateurs put on a gala performance with songs and dances in praise of President Ho Chi Minh and the country’s socio-economic achievements.

* In Ha Nam province, the exhibition “Vietnam’s Hoang Sa and Truong Sa – Historical Evidence” introduces more than 200 images, documents and videos affirming the country’s indisputable sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.

One of the most valuable exhibits was the final letter sent to his family from Tran Van Bay, a soldier who fell during a dramatic battle at Gac Ma Reef in 1988.
