Carnaval Ha Long 2015

The carnaval was themed as “Hoi tu tinh hoa – Lan toa nu cuoi” or “Convergence of Quintessence – Spread of Smiles”.

The opening was attended by high-ranking State and Party leaders, including Nguyen Thien Nhan, member of the Central Party’s politburo and chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, vice chairwoman of the National Assembly, and provincial leaders.

Dang Huy Hau, vice chairman of the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee, said the first Carnaval Ha Long was organsed in 2007 and the event has grow to provide visitors with a chance to experience all the province has to offer.

Carnaval Ha Long 2015 has 11 performance spaces along a 1km stretch of Hoang Quoc Viet Road, drawing on the talents and skills of 2,700 singers and art troupes from home and abroad.'

Flower carriages and performing models depicted themes in connection with particular tourist attractions in Quang Ninh, such as Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay, Co To and Van Don.

In the coming week, an array of art and sports events will be held, including circus performances, beach volleyball tournaments, bike racing and badminton matches, as also a photo exhibition titled "Quang Ninh – My Beloved Land".
