Exhibition on Vietnam’s first elections displayed in Hanoi

As many as 200 objects and historic photos are on display at the Hồ Chí Minh Museum in downtown Hanoi featuring Hồ Chí Minh and Vietnam’s first National Asembly elections .
First time: A photo of the National Assembly election in 1946.

The exhibition covers several topics: President Hồ Chí Minh and the first general election in 1946, and National Assembly elections as well as People’s Council members elections at all levels between 1960 and 2016.

On January 6, 1946, Vietnamese citizens above 18 cast the first ballots in history to vote for the first National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

The exhibition aims to raise people’s awareness of the upcoming elections for the lawmakers organisations at all levels scheduled to take place on May 22 and the 126th birthday anniversary of the President (May 19).

The exhibition will run at the Hồ Chí Minh Museum, 19 Ngọc Hà Street, Ba Đình District till the end of May.
