In a status written on his Facebook account today, December 22, Trung did not mention the name of the popular comedian but everyone inferred who was being referenced.

"I can easily forgive people and I don't want to hate anyone but I need to speak out my opinions here with this case because I used to join a campaign to raise awareness about sexual harassment and violence against children," Trung wrote.

"If you treat elderly people badly, I'll have doubts on your personality; If you treat your parents badly, it's sure you won't treat anyone well; and if you hurt children, get the fuck out of here."

At the end of the status, the 50-year-old artist, who is director of the annual Monsoon Music Festival called on local artists to send a proposal to the Department of Performing Arts under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to issue a banning on this case.

"It's a shame if we have this man in our community," Trung noted.

The status has received lots of support from other artists and the public, most of them expressing that Minh Beo should not be allowed to join in local entertainment shows.

Comedian Minh Beo whose name is Hong Quang Minh was on December 17 handed an official sentence of 18 months in California state prison and lifetime sex offender registration for sexually assaulting a minor boy, according to the Orange County District Attorney.

Minh had been jailed in the U.S. since his arrest late March but was given an early release on December 19 after serving half of his term in prison.

The 38-year-old comedian was arrested after having oral sex with a 16-year-old boy when the victim arrived for an audition.

According to the ruling, Minh Beo would only have to serve half of this sentence in prison, or 270 days in jail, and the remaining is on probation in the community.

On December 21 Minh Beo was spotted after landing at Tan Son Nhat Airport in HCM City. The comedian then posted some photos and sent his greetings and gratitude to his fans on his Facebook account, confirming that he had returned.
