Exhibition features daily life of people with disabilities
A total of 150 photos taken by 30 people with disabilities are being displayed at an exhibition that opened in Hanoi, on April 13.
The exhibition is co-organised by the Embassy of Finland in Hanoi and the Centre for Inclusive Development Action (IDEA) as an event to celebrate the Vietnam Day of Persons with Disabilities (April 18).
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Finnish Ambassador to Vietnam Ilkka-Pekka Simila said that the event was among activities held under the framework of the Finnish Government-funded project on boosting integration of Vietnamese people with disabilities in Thai Nguyen and Song Cong cities, Thai Nguyen province.
The 2015-2017 project aimed to help them overcome their difficulties while calling for equality for them, he stated.
According to IDEA Director, Nguyen Hong Oanh, the 150 photos on display were selected from more than 1,500 photos taken by 30 participants.
She expressed hope that the exhibition would help raise public awareness about the fundamental rights of people with disabilities, eliminate discrimination against them and boost their integration into all aspects of their communities.
The exhibition will be on till April 23 at the Vietnamese Women’s Museum, 36 Ly Thuong Kiet street, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi.
