Hanoi lovers honoured at Bui Xuan Phai Awards
Many works and authors devoted to Hanoi have been honoured at the 2017 Bui Xuan Phai – For the Love of Hanoi Awards including the pedestrian streets by Hoan Kiem Lake.
Hanoi Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung, head of Vietnam News Agency Nguyen Duc Loi, Vice Chairman of the Viet Nam Press Association Ho Quang Loi also attended the ceremony which was held on August 17. 50 authors, works and ideas were nominated this year. Huu Ngoc, the author of various research and books about Hanoi that have been translated into many languages, was the winner of the Grand Prize.
The pedestrian streets by Hoan Kiem Lake project won the Job Prize for helping create a cultural space for the capital which gained huge support from locals and tourists. Hanoi Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung received the prize.
Chung said this was the success of both the local authorities and the citizens who helped manage and maintain a destination for cultural and tourism activities during the weekend.
He went on to praise the Bui Xuan Phai Awards, saying that it was respected by many people across Vietnam and overseas. Hanoi authorities and citizens appreciate the efforts and contributions for the capital.
Bui Xuan Phai Awards was started in August 2008 on the occasion of 85th birthday of late painter Bui Xuan Phai. It was held by the Sports and Culture Newspaper and the painters' family to honour authors, works and ideas that are highly valued and contributed to Hanoi.
There are many other activities held on the occasion of 10th anniversary of Bui Xuan Phai – For Love of Ha Noi Awards such as photo exhibition and music show with famous singers like Thanh Lam, Tung Duong and My Linh.
