“Thanh Ha Pottery Festival - Hoi An” is an opportunity for artisans to exchange experience and introduce their traditional pottery products.

A film on Thanh Ha pottery making will be screened at the festival to give visitors an overview of the trade village.

There will be a display of products from Thanh Ha and other pottery villages such as Phu Lang (northern Bac Ninh province), Huong Canh (northern Vinh Phuc province), Phuoc Tich (central Thua Thien Hue province), and Bau Truc (south-central Ninh Thuan province).

The event will also feature an art and fashion show called “Sounds of the Land” on the streets of the village, with terracotta costumes and accessories, and a pencil sketching workshop for children.

A seminar will also be held on the conservation and development of traditional craft villages in the context of tourism development. The festival is expected to contribute to promoting tourism in Hoi An and raising the profile of Thanh Ha Pottery as a new tourist destination.

Thanh Ha pottery village is located on the banks of Thu Bon River, only 3 km to the west of Hoi An ancient town. For five centuries it has retained the traditional method of crafting handmade pottery.

One of its attractions is replicas of famous tourist destinations from around the world, such as the Colosseum, Notre Dame Cathedral, Sydney Opera House, Angkor Wat, the Statue of Liberty, and London’s Tower Bridge, all made by local people.

Visitors can also learn about the trade village and its outstanding pottery, make some pottery with clay, or buy pottery gifts or souvenirs.
