Singaporean foods introduced at Hanoi festival

Authentic Singaporean cuisines will be introduced at the Singapore Festival which will be held for the first time in Hanoi on March 23- 24.

The festival which is organised by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Hanoi with support from the Hanoi People’s Committee will introduce various unique culture and tourism offerings of the country.

This is STB’s ongoing effort to build a deeper connection with the people of the northern part of Vietnam through its Passion Made Possible destination brand.

Singaporean food lovers will have chance enjoy authentic Singaporean cuisines prepared by four well-known Singaporean chefs at 6pm on March 22 at Pacifica restaurant, Pan Pacific Hanoi:

Among them is Chef Liao Fan Hawker Chan who is renowned for his famous Hawker Chan's soya sauce chicken which is recognized by the most prestigious Michelin Guide.

Initially, Hawker Chan was just a small food stall located in a complex commercial area like many other traditional street food stalls. The owner of Hawker Chan's Chan Hon Meng has diligently researched and experimented the traditional Hong Kong roast meat and gradually improved and drawn experience into an attractive, perfect dish like today.

In July 2016, this traditional Hong Kong-style soya sauce chicken rice and chicken noodles made a surprise when it became the most popular restaurant in the world to receive prestigious Michelin stars in the joy and pride of the restaurant owner and its familiar customers.

Besides, chef KGH Joo Chiat Popiah is gifted with his culinary art in turning the traditional Popiah & Kueh Pie Tie into great artworks.
