Vietnamese brocade culture festival to be held in central highlands province

The second Vietnamese Brocade Culture Festival will be held in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong from November 24-29, according to organisers.

Speaking at a press conference in Hanoi on November 10, vice chairman of Dak Nong Province, Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh said that the Vietnamese Brocade Culture Festival 2020 will be opened on November 24 and will include a ceremony to receive the Dak Nong Geopark title from UNESCO.

"Delegations from 14 provinces across the country, including Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Yen Bai, Bac Ninh, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Ngai, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Binh Phuoc, Tien Giang, Bac Lieu, An Giang and the host Dak Nong will participate in the festival," the official said.


"The event will also attract artisans and art troupes from Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and the Republic of Korea who are living and working in Ho Chi Minh City," she added.

According to the organisers, the highlights of the festival will be an exhibition of brocade cultural space, and a brocade fashion show.

Some other activities will include a light and balloon festival, the semi-final and final round of the Miss Tourism Vietnam 2020 and charity activities in several districts.
