Mountainous ethnic cultures to be introduced on Reunification Day Holiday

Markets of the north-western mountainous region will be recreated at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture And Tourism for the Reunification Day Holiday from April 29 to May 3.

  

A mountainous market session recreated in Hanoi


The Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture And Tourism is a part of the Dong Mo tourist area in Son Tay Town, Hanoi.

A series of activities will include a mountainous market session where visitors can experience the food, games and other traditions of various ethnic groups living in Hoang Su Phi District, Ha Giang Province like the Dao, H'mong and Thai groups.

At the centre of the village, booths will be set up to introduce agricultural produce as well as handicrafts, brocades and souvenirs. There will also be photo exhibitions to introduce Hoang Su Phi people and landscapes to visitors.

The music shows of the ethnic groups and the catching wives tradition will be recreated from 9.30 am to 10.30 am and 3 pm to 4 pm every day. The Ban Vuong Festival of the Dao ethnic group will be recreated on April 30 and the Vietnamese Puppetry Show will be held from 9.30 am to 11 am and 2.30 pm to 4 pm on May 1.
