Vietnamese costume impresses audiences at Miss Universe 2021
Khanh Van, the Vietnamese representative at the ongoing Miss Universe 2021, left a great impression on both the judges and audiences during the national costume competition in the United States on May 14.
Khanh Van initially had some problems of opening the 30-kg cocoon, but she finally did it to thunderous applause from the audience.
Walking confidently on the stage, the Vietnamese contestant was wearing Cocoon costume inspired by the image of the silkworm cocoon used in silk weaving.
Actually it first took her some time to open the 30kg cocoon and the girl then handled the incident well by showing off some impressive dance moves.
Her act receives great applause from both Vietnamese fans and international audiences. All of whom congratulated Khanh Van on her performance on stage and for overcoming adversity.
Catriona Gray, Miss Universe 2018 winner, immediately chose Khanh Van’s cocoon as one of her favourite six outfits.
Writing on social media Gray said, “Indonesia, Nepal, Peru, Thailand, Ukraine and Vietnam were my Top 6 national costumes. Who were yours?”
After the segment finished, global beauty website Missosology moved to raise Khanh Van’s position in their sixth hot picks for Miss Universe 2021.
The Vietnamese girl is now 10th in the rankings, whilst the Top three consist of the beauties from Romania, Puerto Rico, and India.
The 69th Miss Universe pageant is currently underway in the US, featuring the participation of over 70 contestants worldwide.
The semi-final night and the grand final will be held on May 15 and May 17, respectively.
Fans will also be given the chance to participate in a vote conducted by the Miss Universe pageant which is set to run until May 15. The winner of the vote will subsequently progress to be among the competition’s 21 finalists.
