The top three wrestlers in each category will earn a place at the Olympics, but competition is set to be fierce.

 Wrestler Dieu Ninh
Vietnam's hopes are riding on its women wrestlers. To reach her target, Tran Thi Dieu Ninh will have to overcome 25 opponents in her 55kg category. Ninh will face powerful opponents Zhang Lan of China, Zalina Sidakova of Belarus and Ludmila Cristea from Moldova.

According to Vietnamese coaches, Ninh has a dynamic attacking style and is extremely determined. She needs a little luck from the draw which took place on April 28 at the Shanxi Gymnasium in Taiyuan City.

It is the same situation for her teammate Luong Thi Quyen in the women's 63kg class which gathers 21 rivals.

Despite having a ticket to London already, Nguyen Thi Lua is also competing in this event to hone skills for the Olympics. Lua will take part in the 48kg category.

On the men's side, Do Dang Tien and Nguyen Huy Ha will wrestle in the 55kg category, Nguyen The Anh in the 66kg class and Cat Tan Du in the 74kg category.

All Vietnamese wrestlers are competing in free-style events which will start on April 29.
