Azarenka, 3 world tennis stars to play in Vietnam

The Belarusian world number 1 Victoria Azarenka will attend the Heineken Stars 2012 international tournament which kicks off on September 20, along with three other world-class players.

The 23-year-old, who secured a bronze medal in the women's tennis singles and a gold in the mixed doubles for Team Belarus at the 2012 London Olympics, are expected to be joined by Slovakia’s Dominika Cibulkova (world No.13), Frenchman Gilles Simon (No.17), and Feliciano Lopez of Spain (No.31)

Their performance is scheduled to begin at 7pm September 20 with three events, men and women singles, and mixed doubles at the Ho Chi Minh City-based Lan Anh Club.

This year’s Heineken Stars tournament is organized to mark the 17-year tie between the brewer and world tennis, promising to bring world-class performances of the world’s top players to Vietnamese fans.

The four players will also participate in other meeting activities with local fans. They are scheduled to join an online talk with Tuoi Tre readers via its website tuoitre.vn on September 19, and play friendly games with local junior players.

There will be around 300 tickets available at the minimum price of VND2 million ($100), the organisers said.
