Minh extends his winning streak

Vietnamese badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh has successfully advanced to the semi-finals of the Chinese Taipei Open, defeating Hong Kong’s world No. 22 Wing Ki Wong.

Minh and his Chinese rival battled fiercely over the first set, at one point locked at 14-14.  Minh recovered with three successive points and eventually claimed it 21-17.

The second set was no less hard fought but Minh triumphed again, winning 21-17 and concluding the match in 36 minutes.

He will now face-off against the winner of the all-Malaysian match between Mohamad Arif Abdul Latif and Wei Feng Chong.
