Top Vietnamese player Nguyen Tien Minh has climbed one notch up in the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings to return to world’s top ten.

This was thanks to his recent progress in the Yonex Sunrise Vietnam Open, Yonex Open Japan Open and Chinese Taipei Open.

However, he is not staying in his position as he does not register for the Denmark Open and France Open this October.

Minh will attend the Yonex-Sunrise Hong Kong Open in Shanghai from November 13-18.

China’s Du Pengyu, Japan’s Kenichi Taro and Denmark’s Jorgensen also jumped three notches in the latest rankings.

Jorgensen is now world no.11 with 52.691 points, more than 1,000 points less than the Vietnamese player.

The top five remain unchanged with the absolute domination of Lee Chong Wei from Malaysia, followed by China’s Lin Dan, Chen Long and Chen Jin and Indonesia’s Simon Santoso.

Most remarkably, Danish Peter Hoeg Gade was absent from many tournaments due to his injury and continued to drop four notches to world No.12.
