Striker Cong Phuong opened the scoring in the 12^th minute of the first half after receiving a pass from his teammate Van Toan and scored the second goal nine minutes later.

Vietnam’s third goal came in the 54^th minute of the second half, putting its rivals under heavy pressure.

Four minutes later, Cong Phuong successfully kicked the ball into the net, completing his hat-trick.

The 5^th goal was scored by Van Toan in the 60^th minute and the 6^th by Lam Ti Phong in the 87^th minute.

Taiwan’s only goal was made by Wang Li An in the 89^th minute.

The Vietnamese squad led by French coach Guilleme Graechen was placed second only to Australia which claimed a convincing 7-0 victory against Hong Kong (China).

U19 Vietnam will meet Hong Kong on October 5, and Australia later. The top winner of Group F will enter the final round, which is scheduled for Myanmar next year.
