Four-time world champion Pham Van Mach

After four years of missing the top honour, Pham Van Mach returned vigorously with the men’s 55kg crown on December 9, which was his fourth world title following those in 2001, 2009 and 2010.

Nguyen Van Lam blasted the second gold medal for Vietnam with a perfect performance in the men’s 65kg weight category. It was his second world title after his first in 2011.

Nguyen Anh Thong failed to defend his 2013 title in the men’s 60kg, ending up in second place at this year’s event.

Vietnam also won two additional bronze medals thanks to Nguyen Thi My Linh (women’s 65kg) and Tran Thi Cam Tu (women’s fitness).

The competition witnessed over 400 athletes from 45 countries and territories around the world vying for top spots in 35 categories. Vietnam was represented by six bodybuilders.
