A delegation from the Manchester City football club is visiting Hanoi to discuss the establishment of a youth development and training centre next to the Viettel Sports Centre.

The cornerstone of the future of football rest with a vision for youth development and sustainability – a vision to educate talented young footballers on and off the pitch and to do so in a facility supported by the best coaches and coaching programmes, a spokesperson for the delegation said.

The delegation included Stefan Cieplik, Asian regional manager, Francisco Lopez, global business director, and Vietnamese club representative Nguyen Phu An.

During their visit, the trio said they were impressed by the Viettel Sports Centre facilities, which with its six standard practice areas and fitness rooms are adequate for the proposed academy’s needs.
