Le Quang Liem comes third at Asian chess tournament
Vietnamese chess player Le Quang Liem is placed third at the
Asian Continental Chess Championships 2015 in the United Arab Emirates
(UAE).
He defeated Iranian rival I.Pouya in the fifth match on August 6.
Liem gained a total of four points after five matches at the tournament.
He will face Indian competitor A.Gupta (who also got 4 points after five matches) in the sixth match. If Liem succeeds, he will get to the 2nd place.
Other three Vietnamese chess players got impressive results in the fifth match. Nguyen Duc Hoa defeated G.Ehsan (Iran), Nguyen Huynh Minh Huy triumphed over Rathnakaran (India) and Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son ended in a draw with G.Bayarsaikhan (Mongolia).
With such results, Nguyen Duc Hoa ranks ninth with 3.5 points. Nguyen Huynh Minh Huy comes 32nd with 3 points and Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son is placed 37th with 3 points.
