Ly Hoang Nam among world top 500 tennis players
Vietnamese tennis star Ly Hoang Nam has become the first ever Vietnamese tennis player to enter the top 500 of the Association of Tennis Professionals rankings.
After securing the cup of the F2 Men’s Futures tennis tournament in China, Nam jumped 8 places to 495th in the ATP men’s doubles rankings.
In the men’s singles rankings, Nam is only placed second in Southeast Asia, behind Indonesian player Christopher Rungkat (No.473).
It is the highest ranking a Vietnamese tennis player has ever achieved.
He is also scheduled to play at the China F11 Men’s Futures tennis tournament this week.
Meanwhile Nam's teammate Nguyen Hoang Thien climbed 21 places to No.731 in the ATP men’s doubles rankings.
