Trinh Van Vinh, 24, won the world championship for the men’s 62kg category in 2017. He earned two silver medals and one bronze medal for the Asian Weightlifting Championship that year.

He also brought home a gold medal of the 62-kilo group at SEA Games 2017.

In 2016, he earned a gold medal for the lift level of 158 kilos at the Asian Games.

The General Department of Sports and Physical Training has received the IWF’s report that Vinh was tested positive for exogenous testosterone, a forbidden substance.

The test was conducted in November 2018.

Vinh won the silver medal and was tested for doping at ASIAD 2018, but the result was negative.

While waiting for the IWF decision, Vinh has been temporarily suspended from all competition.
