According to VFF vice chairman Tran Quoc Tuan, Park is happy with the new contract and VFF will offer the most favourable conditions for him in the coming time.

The three-year contract will be specifically announced at a press conference on Thursday. But reliable new sources revealed that Park would receive a post-tax salary of around USD50,000 per month for the new contract.

VFF will not have to worry about the salary payment for Park, as it will be sponsored by a company.

The new contract includes a two-year mutual termination clause.

In the current deal scheduled to end in January next year, Park’s salary is total being paid by Doan Nguyen Duc, chairman of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group which invests in property, agriculture and energy, and owner of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Football Club.

Park said that he was very proud of contributing to the development the Vietnamese football. He said he was keen to improve the performance of Vietnam’s national and U23 teams.

Under Park, the national team’s performances have dramatically improved, finishing as runners-up at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship, reaching the semi-final at the 2018 Asian Games and winning the AFF Cup last year, as well as a quarter-final berth in the AFC championship this year.

At present, Vietnam are undefeated in three 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
