The streets of Hanoi's old quarter are becoming busier for the Mid-Autumn Festival, coming in two weeks.

 Crowded streets

Tet Trung Thu (Mid-Autumn Festival), celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, is one of the most important festivals in Vietnam, especially for children. It is also one of the oldest Vietnam's festival and events.

Preparations begin on the first day of the eighth month of Lunar Calendar. Hanoians begin to flock to Hang Luoc, Hang Ruoi and especially Hang Ma streets to go shopping for hand-made goods and relax.

Parents buy toys for their children while the young people pose for pictures and enjoy the atmosphere.

"Today is Sunday so I and my friends met on Hang Ma Street early to take pictures in the pleasant autumn weather. We'll come back during the festival to see the fruit trays arranged to look like animals," Thuy Linh, student of Hanoi University said.

Nguyen Hang, a student of College of Science and Technology shared that she comes here every year. "This year the streets are more crowded than usual. As the festival gets closer I think you might not be able to do much because the streets will be filled with so many people."
