The Ho Chi Minh City Young Workers Support Centre will hold a mass wedding for 100 couples on October 15.

Priority will be given to couples with low incomes and those who work in industrial zones in HCM City and neighbouring provinces. The couples must already have marriage certificates, but for some reason have been unable to hold a ceremony.

The couples will be given a feast table, a pair of VND2 million (USD95) ATM card supplied by Vietcombank, wedding rings and outfits. They will also be given wedding cake, flowers and free photo services.

On the wedding day, a procession of cars will make its way down the city's streets to the spot where HCM City officials will give out wedding rings to the couples. The centre also plans to organise an outdoor trip and a training course on how to build a happy family.

Last year, the centre also held a mass wedding for 100 couples who had made exceptional labour achievements but were from disadvantaged backgrounds, had disabilities, were unemployed or had serious health issues.
