Restaurants and cafes setting up TVs for football fan gatherings are normal during major tournaments and during this year World Cup, they also open delivery services 24/7 for those who stay at homes. Keywords like "World Cup food" or "World Cup food delivery" have become the most searched and shared on the Internet.

Since the matches are often held from the afternoon to early morning in Vietnam local time, it's no wonder that late-night services are becoming more popular. Most restaurants open from noon to 3 am. A seafood restaurant near Thang Long Bridge quickly added other types of dishes to the menu and opened the delivery services to the fans.

Thuy Dung, owner of a food delivery online shop in Hanoi's Dong Da District, said the number of customers increased by four to five folds during World Cup nights. The prices range from VND35,000 (USD1.40) to VND70,000 and the shop receives orders from 6 pm to 5 am.

"I can earn millions of VND per night," Dung said.

Another online seller, Kim Lien, said she had to hire six more employees, working from 8 pm to 5 am to meet demand. The number of late night customers is ten times higher than the number or daytime customers. "I stop receiving orders at noon to focus on late-night orders so that my employees can rest," she said.

Son, a dried pork seller in Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, said he sold 100 grams of dried pork for VND20,000. Some days he can sell up to 5.6kg and earn VND100,000 of profit per kilo.

In order to attract customers, restaurants have started many programmes such as free drinks or discounted prices from 10 pm to midnight.
