Careless drawings on the walls of the pass

A member of a travel forum recently shared photos about walls on the pass spoilt by graffiti. Many people expressed their strong anger at the defacement.

A person whose name is Hung Ngo said that “It is an unacceptable action, showing disrespect to the national landscape.”

Management agencies need drastic measures to deal with this violation, others suggested. 

Nguyen Hong Hai, director of Ha Giang Province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that he was reported of the case and will have solutions to this.

Ma Pi Leng Pass is located in the globally recognised geological park Dong Van. It is not long, only 20km, but dangerously steep cliffs and deep mountainous slopes make the path difficult.

Ma Pi Leng Pass, also called the Great Wall of Vietnam, is one of the four highest passes in the country, alongside Khau Pha in Yen Bai Province, O Quy Ho in Lao Cai Province and Pha Din in Lai Chau Province.
