The outdoor astronomy park at Duong Noi Urban Area in Ha Dong District, Hanoi, which is the first of its kind to be built in Southeast Asia is still under construction.

The park has a total investment of VND260bn (USD11.4m), including VND160bn (USD7m) for facilities and infrastructure. It will cover 12 hectares with Bach Hop Thuy Lake located in the centre.

It is hoped that the park will be both the playing and learning ground for the community.

Construction started in July 2017 and was divided into two phases. In the first phase from 2017 to 2028, the construction of two squares, an outdoor stage, a garden displaying sculptures, an observatory, children's playground and a water fall would be completed and the second phase which started since the second quarter of 2018 will see an astronomy research centre completed.

However, many constructions are still incomplete and progress is very slow.
