Airlines boost fights in preparation for Reunification Day Holiday

Many airlines have increased flights in preparation for the Reunification Day Holiday on April 30.

Vietjet Air announced on March 29 that they had opened five new routes to Phu Quoc Island for to meet increasing demand during the coming Reunification Day Holiday. Vinh-Phu Quoc route was opened on March 28. The routes that connect Danang and Thanh Hoa to Phu Quoc will be opened on April 2 and the routes from Nha Trang and Danang to Phu Quoc will be opened on April 29.

Vietjet Air will also increase the number of flights between Phu Quoc and Hanoi, HCM City, and Hai Phong.

Vietnam Airlines said they would use the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 to serve more passengers on Hanoi-HCM City flights. There will be about 30-34 flights a day. Larger planes and more flights will be able to meet the increasing travel demand after the coronavirus outbreak has been controlled in Vietnam.

Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and VASCO will provide nearly 500,000 seats from April 28 to May 3, an increase of 100,000 seats compared to regular days.

According to the travel agencies, the number of customers has increased day by day, especially for the Reunification Day Holiday. The number of flights has also been increased for popular destinations like Hanoi, HCM City, Danang, Quy Nhon, Da Lat and Phu Quoc.

Tan Son Nhat Airport started seeing overcrowding again during the weekend because passengers are required to fill in the medical declaration forms.

Vietnam Airlines advised their passengers to go to the airports at least two hours in advance.
