Traders at some traditional markets in Hanoi have deployed various measures to keep a safe distance between themselves and customers to prevent the Covid-19 spread.

Customers are only allowed to walk into the Bach Khoa Market and will have their body temperature taken. The traders use transparent shields to cover their kiosks. Money and products will be given under the shields. Bach Khoa Ward People's Committee assigned traders to work at the market alternatively on even and odd days. The market has 150 kiosks so 70 kiosks are open each day.

The entrance to a flea market on Nguyen Thien Thuat Street has also been blocked off recently. Customers who want to enter the market will have their body temperature taken and be disinfected. In the market, the authorities have painted white spots where the customers should stand to keep a safe distance from each other.

Dong Xuan Ward authorities said that after social distancing rules were announced in Hanoi, they quickly planned to patrol and monitor the area. After two days, the locals have shown a cooperative attitude to protect themselves and others.
