The northern province of Phu Tho has allowed fitness centres, spas, and restaurants to resume operations from September 10.

A decision signed by chairman of the provincial people's committee, Bui Van Quang said that businesses should tightly follow Covid-19 prevention rules. Fitness and beauty care centres would only serve a maximum of 20 customers at a time while restaurants will only serve at 50 percent capacity.

The loosening regulations were made as Phu Tho has gone 14 without reporting any Covid-19 infections in the community.

The southern coastal city of Nha Trang has also allowed restaurants in areas with no infections to reopen from September 9. However, hundreds of restaurants on some busy streets like Tran Phu, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, and Nguyen Thien Thuat have remained closed.

An owner of a restaurant on To Hien Thanh Street, Tran Van Toan, said that he knew about the opening permission but would not resume his business at this time.

"We’re only allowed to provide take-away services at this time so I’ll wait until the pandemic is properly brought under control to have more customers," he said.

The central highlands province of Lam Dong, which is home to the tourist city of Da Lat, has also allowed some tourism services to resume operations from 5 pm of September 8.

According to new instructions from local authorities, restaurants, tourist sites, and hotels of two stars upwards can run at half capacity.

A representative from Da Lat City Culture and Information Department, Le Anh Kiet, said that as the city has recently reported no community Covid-19 infections, local authorities have decided to apply a new normal status to resume tourism activities which is a key industry.

"Tourism facilities are asked to strictly follow distancing rules and operate at the maximum of 50 percent capacity," the official said. "Meanwhile, local residents are still advised not to go out between 10 pm to 5 am the next day for Covid-19 prevention."

Some other provinces including Lao Cai, Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh, Phan Thiet, Quang Nam, and Binh Duong have also eased social distancing regulations at some areas which see the pandemic brought under control.

The country's second biggest Covid-19 hotspot of Binh Duong Province has eased Covid-19 restrictions in four districts since Monday.

Restaurants and eateries in Dau Tieng, Phu Giao, Bau Bang, and Bac Tan Uyen districts are allowed to provide takeaway and delivery services but cannot host customers.

Restaurants, coffee shops, and roadside eateries in Hoi An have also been allowed to reopen since September 6 but with 50 percent of customers at a time.
