A Vietnamese student living in Poland has earned the second prize for a literature contest for child authors.

Nguyen Nhat Anh, 11 years old, Warsaw wrote a book of six poems in Polish – with drawings to match – that placed second in her local province’s award for child authors.

“Little Poems for Little Brothers” claimed the number-two spot in the 12th annual Child Author’s Literary Works Award in Mazowieckie Province, Poland. The competition required applicants in primary and secondary school to design a book with at least six original pieces of writing.

“I dream to be an artist, architect, or information technology researcher in the future,” said Anh, who goes to Primary School No. 205.

She seems to be on her way, as these aren’t her first accolades. Anh earned three top prizes this year, one for painting in “Encouraging Young Talent,” a competition by the Educational and Cultural Center of Warsaw, and two separate honors for math through Olympus and Oxford Educational.
