After launches in Hanoi and Da Nang, the Awards have been launched in Ho Chi Minh City on May 25.

In his welcoming speech, Pham Huy Hoan, Editor in Chief of Dan Tri/DTiNews and Chief Organiser of the Vietnamese Talent Awards, proudly summarised the achievements of the awards over the past 5 years. He said, "We are very fortunate to have received a great deal of attention and support from the Party and the State leaders as well as from the general public and many sponsors all over the country. In reciprocation to this prestigious honour, we always try to make sure that awarded products are put into use, in the hope that it will help enhance people's lives, improve society, and contribute to the development of the country."

Associate Professor Duong Anh Duc, Vice-Principal of HCMC University of Natural Sciences and member of the award's jury, shared his hopes with enthusiasm that the jury's sense of fairness will help to discover true talented individuals who have been making considerable contributions for the nation.

With the increasing number of applicants every year, especially in the southern region of Vietnam, where a large number of talents have been discovered and honoured, the Vietnamese Talent Awards organisers have decided this year to expand the preliminary judging rounds in the field of Information Technology (IT) to the South.

Education and Promotion of Learning is a new field that has just been added to the awards this year. This continued to draw a lot of attention from the media at the press conference. The new awards will honour those who have devoted their lives to teaching and making contributions to the development of education in Vietnam. Hoan shared that he felt it would be particularly difficult to select the winners for this award.
The Vietnamese Talents Awards 2010, in the field of IT, is a contest for Vietnamese in the country and overseas, of any age, with an interest in IT.

The Natural Sciences Award will be granted to outstanding scientists who have contributed research of significant value to the development of Vietnamese science.

The award ceremony will be held in Hanoi at 8 pm on November 20, 2010, broadcasted live on Vietnamese Television channel, and online on VnMedia E-Newspaper.

The deadline for IT candidates to submit their products to the organisers is August 31, 2010. Applications are to be submitted at: VnMedia E-Newspaper, 5th Floor, 142 Le Duan Street, Dong Da District, Hanoi. Information on the Vietnamese Talent Awards 2010 can be found on:
