At the final round on July 19, the two outstanding contestants Quoc Tri and Thanh Hoa had to prepare three dishes - starter, main course and dessert - in just two-and-a-half hours.

Luke Nguyen, a jury member, affirmed that Thanh Hoa's dishes reached "global" level as he announced the first King Chef Vietnam title.

Hoa was presented with VND500 million, a trophy and the opportunity to publish a cookbook.

Hoa said he was very happy to receive the award and added that he and other people who loved cooking were responsible for promoting Vietnamese dishes to the world.

Runner up Quoc Tri, the youngest person in the contest, said this event would bring a big response. He will continue training to become professional chef.
