Vietnamese Talents Awards 2013 will add environmental protection and applications of mobile devices into the existing categories, according to the organising board.

"The environment has recently become a hot issue and we need more products to help protect our earth," said Editor-in-Chief of Dantri/DTiNews Pham Huy Hoan who is Head of the organising board.

The application of mobile devices will be added to the IT product catogories to fit the increasing trend of using mobile products, particularly the popular use of smartphones. The mobile product research and development category will offer many opportunities for researchers.

In terms of IT product catogory, the organising board has selected 18 finalists, including five in the mobile device application section, out of a total 241 products.

These 18 finalists will gather in Hanoi on November 17 and 18 for presentation of products.

The Vietnamese Talents Awards 2013 will also include existing categories of health and natural sicience products. The most outstanding products will be announced at the awards ceremony.

The Vietnamese Talents Awards 2013, jointly held by Dantri/DTiNews, Vietnam Television and Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), will be broadcast live at 20:00 p.m on November 20 on VTV2 channel. This year's event will be the 9th of its kind organised in Vietnam.

Speaking with DTiNews, Dr. Nguyen Long, General Secretary of Vietnam Information Technology Association, said the awards is aimed at honouring innovative products, not famous products or people, and the winners must prove themselves to be real talents.
