New spokesman for Foreign Ministry appointed

Le Hai Binh, 37-years old, has been appointed as the new spokesman for the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will be the youngest spokesman to date.

Binh will also work as acting director of the Press and Information Department of the ministry.

Talking to the press, Binh said all positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are challenging, especially the post of spokesman. He added that this job, in the context of a rapidly evolving world, has become more complex.

"I believe that under the guidance of our Party, the people and the media, I'll overcome the challenges and successfully fulfill my duty," he said.

Binh is also spoken well of by university students for the career guidance he provided.

During a talk with students of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam before his appointment as spokesman, Binh said, "If you haven't figured out what your dream is, you should take some downtime to answer this question. Don't be afraid to start over again."

Le Hai Binh was born in 1977 and started work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2000. From 2000 to 2003, Binh was the Embassy attache to Brunei. Before transferring to the Press and Information Department in June, 2013, he held the position of deputy head of the Institute for Strategic Studies.

He was the Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Policy and Secretary of the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister since 2008 before taking over the new roles.
