More than 160 young overseas Vietnamese people from 21 countries are attending a summer camp till the end of this month, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (COVA) has said.

Since 2003, COVA has been organising the annual camp, which opened today, to provide young expatriates an opportunity to increase solidarity and interact with peers at home.

This year, the event, which has the theme "Proud of Vietnam," will take the participants to important places such as Hanoi, Phu Tho, Nghe An and Quang Binh, besides Khanh Hoa and HCM City.

The event will also have activities that are expected to help the participants learn and contribute more towards promoting the country's image and build a stronger Vietnamese community.

Last year, 170 outstanding young overseas Vietnamese people attended a summer camp that highlighted the nation's sea and island sovereignty as well as cultural and historical values.
