Outstanding contributors to Vietnamese architecture honoured

 The most outstanding contributors to the development of Vietnamese architecture were honoured at an awards ceremony held by the Vietnam Urban Planning and Development Association (VUDPA) in Hanoi on January 14.

 

Ashui Awards aim to honour outstanding contributors to Vietnamese architecture.

The VUDPA’s annual Ashui Awards aim to honour outstanding architects and buildings, as well as contractors, investors and real estate developers who have made significant contributions to society.

With 54.7% of the popular vote on the architecture website Ashui.com, Hoang Thuc Hao received the title ‘Architect of the Year 2015’. He is famous for numerous social projects, particularly the project ‘Community house in Cam Thanh commune, Hoi An, Quang Nam province’ that won the 2015 World Architecture Festival (WAF)’s award in the civil-community category.

The ‘Naman Spa’ building, which was designed by MIA Design Studio, received the ‘Construction of the Year 2015’ award with 41.7% of votes.

‘Naman Spa’ is a five-star tranquil oasis with modern conveniences in Naman Retreat resort in Da Nang city. In the past year, the project has been honoured by many prestigious international awards including the International Architecture Awards in Baku, Azerbaijan, and Architecture Review awards in London, the United Kingdom.

Sieu Chung Ky Architecture and Furniture Joint Stock Company won ‘Contractor of the Year 2015’ with 40.2% of the popular vote; meanwhile the ‘Investor of the Year 2015’ title went to Kien A Interdisciplinary Development Corporation.
