Hanoi announces ten outstanding young citizens in 2015

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in Hanoi has announced a list of ten ‘Outstanding Young Citizens’ in 2015 in recognition of their excellent achievements in six areas over the past year.

The honoured citizens have recorded remarkable results in the areas of studying and scientific research; economic development; culture and arts; security, politics and social order; gymnastics and sports; and volunteer work in the community.

The list includes Pham Van Hanh, a student of the Vietnam National University's College of Engineering and Technology; Dinh Tuan Hoang, a student of Hanoi Medical University; Phan Minh Duc, 9th grader at Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted; Tran Trong Tung, Vice Chairman of the Dan Phuong district's Youth Association and Director of Thien An Company.

In addition to, Do Hoang Linh Chi, a student of the Vietnam National Academy of Music; Tran Xuan Hai, police chief at Hang Bai ward, Hoan Kiem district; Hoang Gia Linh, 4th grader at Nghia Tan Primary School; Nguyen Thi My Linh, 11th grader at Thang Long High School; Dinh Phuong Thanh, gymnast; and Thai Thuy Linh, Deputy Director of the National Volunteer Centre.

The 'Outstanding Young Citizens Awards’ is an annual event held by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in Hanoi with the aim of praising and nurturing outstanding young people under the age of 35 in various fields.

The youngest to make the list is Hoang Gia Linh, nine years old, a student of Nghia Tan Primary School who has won many awards in the dance sport area.
