The ceremony which saw the attendance of Politburo member Vuong Dinh
Hue, Head of the Central Economic Committee was held to celebrate the
85th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26).
Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo member Vuong Dinh Hue affirmed that the Party and State always put belief and hope in the younger generation. These awards will give outstanding young people a great source of encouragement to keep getting better as well as contributing more to the national construction and defence cause, he noted. The awards were presented to 10 prominent people under 35 years old who stood out in scientific research, production, business operations, defence, security and order, culture, arts, sports, social affairs and other voluntary activities in 2015. The 10 awardees were chosen from 20 outstanding contestants, narrowed down from 172 profiles submitted by numerous organisations and agencies. The remaining 10 were presented awards for the young promising faces of the year. Over the past 20 years, the annual awards have honoured nearly 200 excellent young people. |
