A Vietnamese has created the GotIt! App that has ranked 8th among the top 10 education applications for March.

Tran Viet Hung

After graduating from the Computer Science Faculty at the US Iowa University, Dr. Tran Viet Hung set up his Tutor Universe company. It is a social marketplace for online tutoring that enables students and tutors to collaborate globally, helping students with online coaching and tutoring. All of Tutor Universe’s staff are Vietnamese.

"GotIt! helps students to do their maths, chemistry and physics homework through their smart phones. They only need to upload their homework photos to GotIt! and within 15 seconds, the system will connect them to a suitable expert who will help them to do the exercises. The total time for the process is about 10 minutes," Hung said.

According to Hung, the average time for dealing with a user's question on GotIt! is around 6.5 minutes. To date, no application has been as quick as GotIt!.

By March this year, GotIt! had become one of the Apple App Store's top ten downloads.

Dr. Hung sent many of his staff to Silicon Valley in preparation for GotIt!’s development.

"Interesting ideas can be easily found in Silicon Valley, but one idea is really valuable when it is turned into useful products for people," Hung said.

Hung and his team are focusing on education applications, but plan to expand to other areas in the future. Recently, GotIt! recruited a former senior expert from Google and GREE for its research activities.
