Outstanding Vietnamese farmers honoured
A ceremony was held in Hanoi on June 13 to honour ten outstanding farmers and four model agricultural co-operatives for their significant achievements in 2015.
The winners for the “Shennong Star” award 2015 title are those who think creatively in agricultural production and business, while also having inventions that are effectively applied in production, making significant contributions to the construction of modern rural areas and national security.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, who is Head of the Steering Committee of the National Target Program on building new-style rural areas, praised the contributions of the farmers for the development of agriculture and modern rural development.
He shared Vietnam’s agricultural products’ advantages in the context of economic integration.
He insisted that ministries, sectors and localities make further efforts in implementing policies of the Party and State regarding agricultural restructuring and sustainable agricultural development, with a focus on encouraging enterprises to invest in agriculture and rural areas.
The Deputy PM also called on farming producers and enterprises to promote creativity and boost the application of technological advances in order to develop agricultural products of high value, helping the Vietnamese brand dominate the domestic market and gradually affirm its prestige on the international market.
