Vietnamese disabled woman wins Kovalevskaia Award

A disabled woman in Thanh Hoa Province has been presented with Kovalevskaia Award for her support to the local disabled community.

Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, who is just 88cm tall, has become the first woman in Vietnam to win the award.

Thanh Hoa Association for Disabled and Orphans Protection Chairman Le Hong Luong announced the news.

Hien has graduated from three universities and is now the director of Suri Ltd. Co.

She is also head of Thanh Hoa Province’s club for disabled young people and students.

According to Le Hong Luong, Thanh Hoa has around 217,000 disabled people, many of whom are playing an active role in the community.
