"Many years including Vietnamese Talent Awards 2018 or 2005, we didn't give first prizes in IT fields if there were no outstanding products that can make a breakthrough or create a new trend in the field," he said.
“However, most of the winning products have been developed successfully at home or abroad."
Sharing the same opinion, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper and vice head organiser of the Vietnamese Talent Awards, Pham Tuan Anh, stressed that they always worked separately with the jury to ensure the contestants were treated fairly.
“The jury board rate the entries basing on their expertise and there's no pressure from choosing a first prize winner if no one is worth it," Anh said. "This has created a fair playing field for all contestants and at the same time enhanced the reputation of the Vietnamese Talent Awards."
Through 15 years, the Vietnamese Talent Awards have become a good environment for many Vietnamese startup companies to introduce their products.
Nguyen Ba Luan who won second prize in IT in Vietnamese Talent Awards 2018 with their Stringee product said that this was the second time they participated in the competition after the first time in 2014.
"The Vietnamese Talent Awards provided us so many opportunities," Luan said. "Our product has been introduced more by the media and been trusted more by our customers thanks to the awards' reputation."
